….this item is trash. The transmitter worked for less than three weeks, now it’s garbage. Leviton screwed the pooch on this one.

Not a 3 way light switch. Please remove it from the description. It replaces a single pole switch. Also it works like a dimmer switch. Nowhere in the product info does it say dimmer. This product is so deceiving!

Switches failed to maintain a steady radio connection to each other, resulting in flickering lights and inconsistent responses to the on/off switch. Unwired switch would not turn light off after the first time. After double-checking the wiring and retesting, I had to uninstall and dispose of this junk.

Trying to use this with dimmable LED pot lights. Did not work for me, the lights would flicker and never shut off. Instead of a gradual brightening, it would flicker until reaching full brightness. It also hummed really loudly. I’m not an electrician, so maybe there’s a “trick” to this. But for my instance, it definitely was not a direct replacement install.

I bought one of these units a couple of years ago. It worked fine for a while, then stopped. Today I tried to replace it with a new unit. Dead out of the box. What a waste of time.

Shame on you, Leviton, for such crappy quality control.

This remote switch worked ok for the first few months, but even though it was installed on a light we rarely use, it started failing just a few months after installed. Currently, when you try to switch on the light, it turns it on, but only about 15 to 20 % of its brightness. It basically dims the light to a very low glow. I replaced the batteries on the remote device, but it did not improve it.
I kept hitting the top of the switch to turn it on brighter, but it will not respond.
I neglected to report this sooner, and now I can’t return it for credit. Stay away from it. Not recommended!!!

This thing is junk and Amazon should not crap lie this to be sold to it’s customers. It won’t work with a ceiling fixture that also has a ceiling fan. It does state in the instructions “not to be used with electric motors” but it doesn’t state that in the description of the product. It won’t work with compact fluorescent bulbs. And with an incondescent (sp?) bulb I have to stand there while it dims to “off.” Who would want to wait for a switch to dim before it shuts off?

I could never get this thing to work!! By trade I am a low voltage electrician so there was no issue with the install. I had to literally hold the transmitter right next to the receiver in order to make it work. Sent it back!!

We were building a family room in our house and bought two of these pieces of crap.. by the time we finished the family room and wired them up, we foundout that neither of them work!!! Every light bulb in our house is a daylight color CFL from the same manufacturer and therefore the same color. There are many variations of “daylight” bulbs so staying with this exact setup is very important to us. I really hope the product description is changed to say up front that this item only works for incandescent light bulbs because finding out after it arrived (silly me did not thoroughly read through all the product reviews before ordering). I was very surprised that such an important bit of information was left out.

Totally Garbage. It may work if you are using old style incandesce bulbs. However, for any new style gulf from the last decade will not work. The switch buzzes and lights flicker. What year is this? Does anyone use incandescent bulbs anymore? Not to mention the remote swift is big and bulkily and looks like an after thought. The switch is not a rocker either. What a joke!! I would think Leviton would have it together. I would think Doc brown would have built a better unit in 1955

I had to get pretty deep into the fine print of the instructions before the limitation is stated that this can’t be used to control a light that is plugged into a receptacle…or any light if there is also receptacle on the circuit. I think that to use it in these situations is likely to be DANGEROUS because this is only rated for a max of 300 watts (also hidden in fine print, and not clear that it is combined TOTAL load rather than highest load per light on the circuit.

From other reviews it sounds like this has its purpose when there is small wattage circuit incandescant light in a solitary circuit with no outlets on the circuit. Otherwise beware because it is likely to either burn out or be dangerous.

Nowhere in the product description is this serious limitation noted.
